Tom is a CPA with significant experience with financial reporting, analyzing business opportunities and identifying and solving business problems. He has proven administrative, supervisory and leadership skills in functional areas including finance, treasury, accounting, human resources, technology, marketing and facilities management. He has over 15 years experience assisting the professional service industry. He is a "hands on" consultant who has:

Prior to forming T.E. Young Consulting group, Tom served as Business Manager (principal administrator) and Chief Financial Officer for 12 years at a large multinational law firm headquartered in Chicago. Some of his accomplishments include:

• Analyzed financial impact of significant merger and led administrative transition of that group into the firm
• Identified reasons for previous marketing failures, clarified marketing responsibilities, and led search for new marketing director
• Along with Technology Committee, defined strategic technology for the firm, recruited new technology director, and restructured the technology group
• As a member of the retirement plan and 401k plan committee, selected investment options for 401k plan encompassing all risk categories and developed investment strategy for the retirement plan
• Negotiated office lease
• Supervised financial analysis of office space alternatives, presented findings to partners, and defined critical issues to be addressed before considering a move
• Identified impact of major client's new billing and processing requirements and led restructuring of responsibilities, procedures, staffing and workload
• Initiated a cost containment program
• Performed comprehensive review of large branch office to determine why that office was not performing to expectations
• Restructured financial reports to provide meaningful information in a condensed format

Tom also has operational experience in service, wholesale, importing and manufacturing environments and began his career working for a public accounting firm.
